چکیده

We review the present status of QCD corrections to weak decays beyond the leading logarithmic approximation including particle-antiparticle mixing and rare and CP violating decays. After presenting the basic formalism for these calculations we discuss in detail the effective hamiltonians for all decays for which the next-to-leading corrections are known. Subsequently, we present the phenomenological implications of these calculations. In particular we update the values of various parameters and we incorporate new information on mt in view of the recent top quark discovery. One of the central issues in our review are the theoretical uncertainties related to renormalization scale ambiguities which are substantially reduced by including next-to-leading order corrections. The impact of this theoretical improvement on the determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix is then illustrated in various cases. email: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

Decays Beyond Leading Logarithms

Using the next-to-leading order low energy effective Hamiltonian for |∆B| = 1, ∆C = ∆U = 0 transitions, the contributions of electroweak penguin operators in B−(B0 d) → PP and PV decays are estimated in the standard model. We find that, for some channels, the electroweak penguin effects can enhance or reduce the QCD penguin and/or tree level contributions by at least 30%, and can even play domi...

QCD Factors a 1 and a 2 Beyond Leading Logarithms versus Factorization in Non - leptonic Heavy Meson Decays ∗

We calculate the QCD factors a1 and a2, entering the tests of factorization in nonleptonic heavy meson decays, beyond the leading logarithmic approximation in three renormalization schemes (NDR, HV, DRED). We investigate their μ–dependence and the renormalization scheme dependence. We point out that a1 for B-decays depends very weakly on ΛMS, μ and the choice of the renormalization scheme. For ...

CP asymmetry in flavour-specific B decays beyond leading logarithms

We compute next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the CP asymmetry afs = Im(Γ12/M12) in flavour-specific Bd,s decays such as Bd → Xlνl or Bs → D − s π . The corrections reduce the uncertainties associated with the choice of the renormalization scheme for the quark masses significantly. In the Standard Model we predict afs = −(4.4± 0.9)× 10 . As a by-product we also obtain the width difference...
